I had the opportunity to photograph the mayor of Tempe, AZ., Mayor Mark Mitchell, for Commercial Executive Magazine last week.
The location for this shoot was the beautiful Tempe Center for the Arts, right on Tempe Town Lake. The shoot was simple and straight-forward, a series of simple headshots for a magazine feature.

Given the architecture of the building, it was an ideal spot for some natural light headshots against the various angles and textures of glass. I mixed in some shots of Mayor Mitchell with Tempe Town Lake and some recognizable Tempe buildings and bridges in the background for context, like the opening photo. It was a quick shoot, maybe 15 minutes at most with the mayor, and I'm pleased with how the series turned out. The mayor was a great subject, and a pleasure to work with.
